Canon bags European Product Awards

Imaging leader Canon has received three 2011-2012 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awards for being the best products in their categories.

Canon EOS 600

Canon’s EOS 600D DSLR earned European Camera 2011-2012 honors, EF70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM telephoto lens received European Professional Lens and Legria HF M41 got European Camcorder.

Noted for its very strong set of features, the 18.0-megapixel Canon EOS 600D with vari-angle screen was recognized by the EISA jury for its excellent resolution and low-noise performance, calling it an extremely desirable model for entry-level users.

The EF70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM telephoto or long-focus lens was recognized for its high image quality performance, extremely durable construction and surprisingly compact design.

Both products are available in the Philippines.

The compact Legria HF M41 was noted for its extremely fast auto-focus performance and extremely good picture quality. It earned praise from the EISA jury for its exceptionally low level of noise, even in poor light.

Canon EF 70-300mm

Its local counterpart is the VIXIA HF M40, which only differs in memory space.

EISA is composed of 50 special interest magazines from 19 European countries focusing on such categories as photography, audio, video and mobile devices.

First launched in 1982, EISA awards are presented to products released in Europe within the past 12 months deemed representative of their product category by a judging panel composed of editors of EISA-affiliated magazines specializing in that product division.

Canon LEGRIA HF M41

Canon took home its first EISA award in 1984 with the T70 SLR camera, and has since been honored with a total of 52 EISA awards in a span of 26 years.

Earlier this year, Canon won three awards in the Technical Image Press Association Awards held in Istanbul, Turkey. Canon’s EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM won best professional lens, Canon EOS 600D as best entry-level DSLR, and Canon PowerShot SX230 HS as the best super zoom camera.
