World leader in computing innovation, Intel Philippines, recently launched Negosyantech, an integrated marketing campaign that utilizes social media and nationwide road shows to underscore the advantages of having a strong online presence and a reliable internal support system for small-to-medium businesses (SMBs). With the participation of leading technology brands in computing, connectivity, e-commerce and software solutions, the campaign validates the pivotal role personal computers (PCs) play on business growth through its effort to equip Filipino entrepreneurs with the technology solutions they need in an increasingly connected world.
With the social media and internet usage quickly becoming an indispensible part of everyday life, today’s entrepreneurs are turning to technology to develop innovative solutions that address the unique business challenges they face. Following the tremendous growth of the country’s e-commerce landscape, enterprises are seeing the potential of social media as a platform for business.
“The presence of the internet and computer technology across all industries continues to impact the growth potential of SMBs. With PCs at the heart of every business, Intel is working collaboratively with our partners to provide small to medium sized businesses with the computing requirements they need to deliver new products to market,” said Intel Philippines business development manager Carlo Subido. “From complex business processes to e-commerce applications support, Negosyantech offers reliable solutions for netbooks, desktops, notebooks, ultrabooks, and servers based on Intel Architecture depending on the costumer’s needs.”
Small and medium business continue to see the value in automating operations. Negosyantech provides solutions that create a link between front-end and back-end systems by giving entrepreneurs a range of offerings that not only allow them to interact directly with their customers, but also ensures that their business processes run smoothly and productively through reliable technology.
To address back-end requirements, Intel collaborated with open source architect 8layer Technologies, Inc. to design software applications that achieve cost-effective, easy to use business solutions that grow with the entrepreneur. In line with Negosyantech’s objectives, 8layer launched the Kasosyo Apps Suite, a software solution designed specifically for micro and small business. Kasosyo Apps Suite is available as a stand-alone software box package.
“Our aim as Intel’s business partner for Negosyantech is to allow the entrepreneur to sleep soundly at the end of the day,” said Deng Siloriio, Head, Marketing and Business Operations, 8Layer Technologies, Inc. “By providing a software program wherein SMBs can confidently check its financials and operations at a glance, we are enabling Filipino entrepreneurs to be self-reliant by managing their business without the need for external consultants and exorbitant fees.”
8Layer also designed a software application for lager businesses called BigBiz Technology, which seamlessly integrates institutional services such as Firewall, Email, File Server, DNS, Proxy Server and more into a single hardware server.
To address front-end requirements, Intel partnered with social shopping site Multiply.com to provide SMBs with an e-commerce platform through which they can access a nationwide market. Having evolved from a social media site into one of the local e-commerce space is a testament to the advantages of having a strong online presence. Multiply.com now has over 127,000 merchants selling on the site, with over 2,500 online shops open month on month, and continues emerging entrepreneurs to business success.
“Multiply.com’s role as the e-commerce enabler for Intel’s SME partners entails building online stores for entrepreneurs who have partnered with Intel so they can sell their products and services to a large market using our e-commerce platform. Multiply’s online solution is the perfect complement to the computing technology and connectivity bundles that Negosyantech offers to SMEs nationwide. The more entrepreneurs embrace technology and the internet, through relevant and affordable offers such as those of the Negosyantech program, the faster the e-commerce economy will grow benefitting all our businesses,” said Steven Santos, Business Partnership Development Head, Multiply.com Philippines.
Intel also collaborated with telecommunications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) to be the communications and information provider for Negosyantech.
“The Negosyantech series goes hand-in-hand with what we advocate for in PLDT KaAsenso. We aim to empower progressive micro-businesses and start-ups by giving them the right communications and information tools to address their key needs in connectivity, financing, education, networking and extra income. Negosyantech’s technology solutions help us achieve this by complementing our application suite and creating an avenue through which participating PC dealers enable us to further our reach to entrepreneurs nationwide,” said Jonathan de Quiroz, Head, PLDT KaAsenso.
Intel and its partners continue to work together to realize a common vision of transforming SMBs into sustainable enterprise in a 21st century economy.
