Schneider Electric announces TruRetrofit Lighting Control System

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, today announced the introduction of its EZinstall3 TruRetrofit Lighting Control System, a technology platform for lighting control which brings the enjoyment of fine lighting to everyone. The third generation of EZinstall enables homes and offices to freely customise their lighting fixtures with various light intensities. Fine lighting facilitates the creation of various ambiences – from cosy peacefulness to passionate romance – creating a unique, sensual and memorable experience for every occasion.

A sophisticated system that is simple to use and install, EZinstall3 features 2-wire TruRretrofit technology that makes installation a cinch.  A state-of-the-art scene control system for fine lighting for any home or office, EZinstall3 makes it effortless to adjust mood lighting in order to create the perfect scene to match the occasion via its one touch scene control system.

The evolution of interior design has seen the emergence of a wide variety of light source options such as incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) and light emitting diodes (LED). However, lighting control systems experience compatibility issues with certain types of lamps, limiting options for designers. EZinstall3 solves this with its patent pending dimtect technology that allows dimmers to automatically detect its lamp partner and perform the dimming function when connected to dimmable lamps, or the on/off function when paired with non-dimmable lamps. This flexibility opens up more options for lighting design, enabling designers to employ all sorts of light sources without worrying about compatibility.  Designers can focus on lighting design, allowing dimtect to do the rest.

The introduction of new types of building and decorating materials can also adversely affect the reliability and stability of wireless communications between the lamps and lighting control system. EZinstall3 features ZigBee radio frequency remote control which minimizes the signal interference, allowing greater freedom when selecting building and decorating materials for retrofitting. ZigBee’s peer-to-peer wireless mesh networking ensures there is virtually no range limitation, guaranteeing reliable and stable lighting control throughout the entire home or office.
