Facebook launches Workplace for businesses

Facebook has announced its new social network service called Workplace in an effort to better integrate businesses.

According to the social media company, the Workplace will come with a combination of best traditional Facebook features and unique Workplace-only features, giving businesses the ability to chat across the world in real time, host a virtual brainstorm in a group, or follow along with a presentation on Facebook Live.

The company claims that since the service was launched in closed beta over a year ago, more than 1,000 organizations across the world have used Workplace, with people creating nearly 100,000 groups on the service.

Facebook also notes that Workplace has been used by a wide range of businesses, from shipping companies to banks.

Workplace is now available to any company or organization that wants to use it, and it will soon roll out to even more businesses around the world through the Workplace Partner Program.
