Globe rolls out in investments for PH to become a digital nation

 

During Globe Telecom’s event last March 28, 201, they announced that they will be embarking on another multi-million dollar modernization program that would help boost the internet experience across the country. Wherein it is set to reach within homes and businesses of Filipinos, that in 5 years the mobile telecommunications company will extend network coverage to more areas that currently have no connections.

Ernest L. Cu, Globe’s President and CEO said that their company is ready to pour billions of pesos to make this program happen since data access is currently one of the most important drivers of economic growth and competitiveness. In line with its vision of catering to the digital nation, the network will also increase the capacity of its network to make use of both wireline and mobile through different technologies including LTE , 3G and even WiFi.

President Ernest Cu even emphasized that new digital trends such as cloud computing, mobile web services and E-commerce are already radically changing the digital landscape anywhere else in the world. With this advancement program, the company will replace old copper wires that have been used in the past and replace it with fiber optics providing consumers with a higher download and upload speeds, lower latency, faster internet browsing and HD video streaming among others.

“This is not just about the business of connectivity. This is also giving everyone the opportunity to create their own business and experience growth as a result of connectivity,” he said. “We have come to that point where we could all come together and make use of connectivity to benefit as many Filipinos as possible.”
