Twitter reveals the most used emojis around the world

In celebration of the World Emoji Day, Twitter on Sunday released a photo showing which emoji are most tweeted in different countries around the globe.

According to the photo, the most used emoji in the U.S., Canada, and Britain is an unhappy-looking emoji while the Philippines, Indonesia, and Turkey prefer smiling emoji. France, Italy, Japan, and Saudi Arabia like variations of heart emoji.

It also showed top tweeted emojis in Spain, Germany, South Korea, Australia, India, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

Meanwhile, Twitter also tweeted a GIF which showed emoji trends throughout the year. The animation revealed that January is happier than April in terms of emojis and December is ruled by a Christmas tree emoji.
