NVIDIA on Tuesday (February 28, 2017) unveiled the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, dubbed as the “fastest gaming GPU ever.”
According to the company’s blog post, the Pascal architecture-based GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is 35 percent faster than its predecessor, the GTX 1080. This was made possible thanks to the GPU’s 12 billion transistors, 3584 NVIDIA CUDA cores, and a huge 11GB frame buffer running at 11Gbps.
NVIDIA said that it created the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti to meet the graphical demands of 4K gaming and deliver unrivaled VR experiences.
“Year after year after year videogames are getting more and more beautiful, so we’re introducing the next generation high end so you’re ready to enjoy next generation games,” said NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang.
The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is priced at $699 and will be available worldwide beginning March 10.
