Tech giant Apple will reportedly work on the production of augmented reality glasses late this year which is expected to be launched in 2020.
In a report by The Verge, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the AR glasses could be released as an iPhone accessory which will come with its own display while outsourcing processing, positional tracking, and networking duties to the phone itself.
Rumors about the company’s AR headset has been surfacing online since 2017, the year when apple released its first augmented reality software, ARKit.
Since the ARKit release, as well as the recent ARKit 2.0 launched last 2018, Apple has yet to produce a dedicated AR hardware.
