Acer announces the winning of seven Computex d&i (design and innovation) awards 2015. The products awarded this year include products just unveiled at Acer’s “next@acer” press event in New York in April, namely the Aspire Switch 10 E 2-in-1 and Aspire E 15 notebooks, Predator X34 gaming monitor, Iconia One 8 tablet, and the widely praised Chromebook 15, Revo One RL85 entertainment center, and stylish H257HU monitor.
Two of the products, the Aspire Switch 10 E and Revo One RL85, are also recent winners of the prestigious Red Dot design awards. “At Acer we believe not only that our products need to be reliable and robust, but at the same time beautiful and sensational,” said Seji Peng, Associate Vice President of Acer’s Industrial Design Business Unit. “We are constantly innovating our manufacturing processes to enhance the touch and feel of our products, such as the new textile-pattern on the Aspire E 15, and the textured tartan pattern on the Iconia One 8, so that people get tactile satisfaction while holding and using them, which is is part of the Acer design language.”
The Computex d&i awards are hosted by Computex Taipei’s organizer, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, and organized by the world-renowned design institute iF International Forum Design. The winning entries are selected by an international expert panel, with evaluation criteria including degree of innovation, design quality, craftsmanship, choice of materials, environmental friendliness, functionality, utility value, safety, ergonomics, universal design, product identity, and product branding.
