Unlike visual AR which adds an extra layer to things you see, BOSE AR is the future of mobile sound. The “glasses to hear” is a new take on augmented reality but one that sound as if it would be a perfect complement to visual AR.
According to CNET, aside from core features like listening to music and making calls, the wearable uses senors to track head motion, and the GPS from an iOS or Android device to track location.
Bose has set up $50 million venture fund that will be used to invest in companies interested in creating apps, services and relared technologies for the Bose AR platform.
