Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is set to testify before the congress in a Committee on Energy and Commerce hearing on April 11 in response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
In a report by Techspot.com, committee Chairman Greg Walden and Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. said in a joint statement that Zuckerberg’s appearance in the hearing will be an opportunity for the social networking company to shed light on privacy issues and to help American users understand what happens to their online personal data.
Zuckerberg’s appearance on the hearing will be the first time the giant social networking company’s CEO is set to testify before the congress.
Facebook has been under fire after the Cambridge Analytica scandal where the political consulting firm allegedly obtained personal data from millions of Facebook users for election purposes.
