Facebook has introduced the new feature “Why am I seeing this post?” which explains why users see certain posts appearing on their News Feed before the others.
In a report by theverge.com, Facebook’s new feature provides information to users why specific posts appear on their News Feed and lets them control how often they could see similar posts in the future.
The said option is an expansion of an existing feature that the service is providing for ads.
The new feature could be accessed by using the drop-down menu in the top right of the post and will provide details on why they think the user might want to see such post with factors such as the amount of times users interacted with the post’s author in the past, the types of posts such as photos and videos that users tend to interact with, and the post’s overall popularity.
The feature is expected to roll out to all users by mid-May.
