Sony Interactive Entertainment and SIE Santa Monica Studio’s “God of War” won big at the 22nd annual DICE Awards where it was hailed as the ‘game of the year’ and was recognized in eight other categories out of 23.
According to a report by Polygon, the PlayStation 4 game took home the most number of awards including Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Game Design, Story, Original Music Composition, Sound Design, Art Direction, Character for Kratos, and Adventure Game of the Year.
Apart from “God of War,” the only game who won multiple awards was Celeste, which bagged Action Game of the year and Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game.
The DICE Awards is an annual event held by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) with more than 30,000 members.
Last year’s game of the year was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which took home four awards.
