As part of the Kaspersky Lab’s Value Added Service segment, the new on-demand program is part of a new business tier of the global cybersecurity company that seeks to offer hassle-free access to its next-generation security solutions at more affordable and flexible pricing plans and offered through local service providers.
It is being rolled out for the first time in the Philippines and subsequently to other select countries in the Southeast Asian region.
In the Philippines, Kaspersky Lab aims to address the need for a budget-friendly online protection option for the country’s over 70 million internet users.
“We’re excited to pilot this program in the Philippines which offers a very straightforward solution to the seemingly universal issue of not securing internet-connected devices because the process appears bothersome and security software is expensive. We are confident that the flexibility of the pricing options will encourage more Filipinos to try the award-winning digital protection products from Kaspersky Lab. I can’t stress it enough — today is the best time to be in control of our devices and especially of our data,” said Daewan Ku, Head of APAC xSP Project Development at Kaspersky Lab.
Kaspersky Lab’s latest mobile malware report revealed that the Philippines ranked 10th in its worldwide list of countries attacked by mobile malware last year. Meanwhile, the country topped the global internet usage index with an average of 10 hours and two minutes per day, based on an independent 2019 report on online habits, showing the Filipinos’ internet use is on the upswing.
The Kaspersky Lab xSP on-demand service is by far the most affordable and easiest way to protect one’s privacy, identity, family, and money online. It will be most beneficial to internet users who own multiple computing devices — be it a desktop, laptop, or any tablet or smartphone running on Android, Windows, iOS, and OS X.
