The government’s response to the coronavirus has been difficult for some sectors of Philippine society, particularly those who are unable to meet their daily needs without the capacity to travel or to earn their income. This includes small-scale business vendors, construction workers, and drivers.
To respond to this concern, Maine Mendoza has launched a DoNation Drive, where she will be sending PHP1,000 per household. People are encouraged to apply by sending an email together with proof of employment (be it Company ID or Operator’s Permit) and mobile number.
For those interested, these details must be sent to donation.drive@yahoo.com.
Maine has reiterated that all occupations are open to applying, especially PUV drivers and even low-income workers that may not have any proof of employment to present. In these cases, Operator’s Permit or other pictures that prove their livelihood can be substituted in lieu of Employment ID.
