Duterte names former Globe lawyer Rodolfo Salalima as DICT chief

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Globe Telecom lawyer Rodolfo A. Salalima to head the newly created Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

President Benigno Aquino signed Republic Act (RA) No. 10844 creating the DICT which will be the primary policy, planning, coordinating, implementing and administrative entity of the Executive branch of the government that will plan, develop and promote the national ICT development agenda.

Salalima held the position of Senior Vice President for Corporate and Regulatory Affairs of Globe until 2008. Salalima is Duterte’s classmate in San Beda College’s law school.
