Fortinet Appoints Country Manager for the Philippines

Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global leader in broad, integrated and automated cybersecurity solutions, today announced that it has appointed Mario Luis Castaneda (Louie) to lead Fortinet Philippines as Country Manager. Castaneda has three decades of experience in the IT industry and will take charge of Fortinet’s overall business operations, growing market share in the Philippines.

Prior to Fortinet, Castaneda has worked in senior sales and channel management roles in global technology companies like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and Fujitsu. He was also Country Manager of Cisco Philippines. A licensed electronics engineer, Castaneda has engaged in systems and network engineering, IT planning and design, presales and technical consulting earlier in his career.

New and more advanced threats are emerging every day. From IoT to the cloud, enterprises need an architecture that can integrate, synchronise and automate cyber defences across the entire organisation. Fortinet’s Security Fabric architecture foundation enables the vendor to deliver a broad portfolio of advanced solutions to organisations, helping businesses secure their networks and gain competitive advantage.

“This is an exciting time to join Fortinet,” said Castaneda. “In the Philippines and globally, there are tremendous opportunities to drive greater cybersecurity demand and adoption with the unique value propositions offered by our Security Fabric.”

Castaneda reports to Peerapong Jongvibool, Fortinet’s regional director for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.

“Governments and enterprises across the region are waking up to the importance of cybersecurity and are heeding the call for digital and security transformation,” said Jongvibool. “I am confident that Louie with his rich industry experience can lead his team to help customers revolutionise their networks and better defend themselves against advanced threats.”

Castaneda graduated from Don Bosco Technical College with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, and also completed the academic requirements for his MBA in De La Salle University.
