PUBG named as Game of the Year in 2018 Steam Awards

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds popularly known as PUBG has been named as the ‘Game of the Year’ during Valve’s 2018 Steam Award, beating runners-up Monster Hunter: World, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Hitman 2, and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

In a report by eurogamer.net, players were invited to choose their favorite games in eight categories, including game of the year, best developer, and ‘better with friends’.

The participants were later given a set of digital trading cards as a token for their participation.

Other winners are The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR as the VR Game of the Year, Grand Theft Auto 5 in the Labo(u)r of Love category, CD Projekt Red as the Best Developer, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the Best Environment category, Rainbow Six Siege as the Better With Friends game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in the Best Alternate History category, and Rocket League which is named as Most Fun With a Machine.
