Samsung has officially suspended sales of Galaxy Note 7 phones following reports of exploding replacement Note 7 handsets.
The company wrote in a statement that they will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to halt sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7 while the investigation is taking place.
The company also said that they are working with regulatory authorities to resolve the situation.
Consumers are urged to stop using and power down their Note 7 devices, regardless if it’s original or replacement. They can opt to exchange their risky Note 7s for a Galaxy S7 or S7 edge.
According to The Verge, at least five replacement Note 7 phones have caught fire in the past week in the US.
