WHO receives $10M donation from Tiktok

The social media app Tiktok spearheads the fight against the coronavirus with a $10 million donation to the World Health Organization.

“The World Health Organization on Monday announced that its Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund received a $10 million donation from TikTok, the popular app used to make short videos.” a tweet from CNN Philippines revealed.

Tiktok appears to be the first social media/networking site that has contributed monetarily to the COVID-19 response efforts. Other social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, have prioritized handling the flood of misinformation regarding the pandemic.
