Some may have noticed that Facebook and Instagram were down for almost an hour today (around 1pm, GMT8:00+). Though it seems like the incident is caused by technical difficulties, Lizard Squad claims to be responsible in shutting down these sites on their Twitter account.
Aside from Facebook and Instagram, other sites were also affected by the said attack. Tinder, MySpace, AIM and Hipchat were also shut down in the same timeframe. These websites are now back online and working properly less than an hour after being taken down.
There are no official reports from these websites yet regarding the true culprits or reason for the incident.
