At the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, LG Electronics launched G6, the company’s new flagship smartphone that will take on premium smartphones produced by Samsung and Apple.
According to LG, the G6 is equipped with a 5.7-inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440 resolution) FullVision display, and the industry-first 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The South Korean company notes that the 18:9 format will provide consumers with “more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games.” Smartphones today usually feature a 16:9 screen aspect ratio.
Even though the G6 is taller, LG said the new smartphone will be easy to use with one hand. In addition, the front side of the G6 is mostly screen with minimized bezels.
Other notable features of the LG G6 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB ROM (expandable up to 2TB), 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and 3,300 mAh embedded battery.
The G6 runs on Google’s latest operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat.
