Streaming service Netflix is ending its five-year partnership with Marvel Television as it cancelled its remaining superhero series “The Punisher” and “Jessica Jones”.
According to a report by Deadline, Netflix will not be pushing through with a third season of “The Punisher” after its second season aired last January 2019.
Netflix will not do a fourth season of “Jessica Jones” as well, leaving its third season which will air sometime this year as its finale.
A Netflix streamer said: “We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and thank the passionate fans who have followed these series from the beginning.”
Meanwhile, Marvel Television’s executive vice president Jeph Loeb issued a statement on their website, saying: “On behalf of everyone at Marvel Television, we couldn’t be more proud or more grateful to our audience.
Our Network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters… but you know Marvel better than that.
As Matthew Murdock’s Dad once said, ‘The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it’s how he gets back up.’

Natflix has also cancelled “Iron Fist,” “Luke Cage,” and “Daredevil” prior to the two remaining Marvel shows.
