Tech giant Lenovo, through its gaming brand Legion, is releasing new gaming devices equipped with the latest hardware from Intel and NVIDIA that are designed to provide a truly immersive experience for gamers.
The new gaming machines will come with Intel’s 9th Generation processor, whose specifications were revealed at the 2019 Game Developers Conference. Its key features include Intel Optane Memory H10 SSD which enables quicker system performance and responsiveness.
For Lenovo Philippines Country General Manager Michael Ngan, the update of the Legion lineup bolsters the company’s goal of providing supreme performance. “Enhanced and realistic graphics are now the norm in PC gaming and those without the latest technology are simply unable to play. By providing the right tools, we at Lenovo are not only giving gamers the chance to play games, but we’re also giving non-gamers an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a new environment,” said Ngan.
Ngan also adds that the devices will cater to gamers who want to share their experiences through online streaming. “Thanks to the booming popularity of eSports and gaming in general, video game streaming has become very lucrative and we recognize that a lot of people want to get in on it. The boost catered by Intel and NVIDIA will surely help produce popular content since they not only provide the power needed to play new and upcoming games, which people want to see, but also make the process a lot easier,” he said.
During Intel’s showcase at the GDC, the 9th Gen processors were revealed to deliver 34 percent faster video editing than the previous generation and are designed to run modern games like Hitman 2 at 10 percent more frames per second than the 8th Gen processors.
Lenovo’s upcoming Legion machines will also come with NVIDIA’s GTX 16 series graphics card which provides 1.4X more power efficiency than the previous generation. High quality streaming is assured through the card’s dedicated hardware encoders that deliver 15 percent improved efficiency and its optimization with Open Broadcaster Software (OBS).
Topping off the new features is the NVIDIA RTX 2060 graphics card. A true gaming beast, the card has up to 6X the performance of previous-generation cards and brings the power of real-time ray tracing and artificial intelligence for enhanced graphics.
A total of four Legion devices will be hitting Lenovo authorized resellers nationwide this June. These are the Legion Y740, Legion Y540, IdeaPad L340 Gaming, and Legion T530.
