Acer launches Gaming Monitor Enabled by AMD FreeSync Technology

Acer’s XG270HU gaming monitor enabled by AMD FreeSync technology is shipping this month starting from North America and EMEA. The 27-inch display with FreeSync technology eliminates screen tearing and stuttering to provide gamers an ultra-smooth experience. It comes with WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, a fast 144 Hz refresh rate, a fast 1-ms LCD response time, and an edge-to-edge frameless design for enhanced gaming performance and seamless viewing.

The Acer XG270HU is a great choice for gaming and productivity alike, as it supports multiple interfaces (HDMI 2.0, Dual-link DVI, and DisplayPort), as well as low-dimming technology that adjusts screen brightness when working in non-optimal lighting conditions, and a blue light filter to reduce blue light exposure. It also incorporates flicker-less technology that eliminates screen flicker through a stable supply of power.

“Our premium line of displays is designed to provide the best-in-class gaming experience,” said Victor Chien, general manager of Acer’s Digital Display Business Unit. “With the Acer XG270HU, we’re proud to have partnered with AMD to incorporate FreeSync technology and provide an ultra-smooth gaming on AMD Radeon™ GPUs.”

“The broad adoption of FreeSync technology from our partners shows how the industry strongly values the same open ecosystem and quality that AMD strives for,” said Roy Taylor, corporate vice president, ISV/IHV Partner Group, AMD. “Gamers who use FreeSync technology with AMD Radeon R-Series graphics and AMD latest generation of APUs can rest assured that they’re enjoying the best possible experience.” “With Realtek’s high performance field-proven DisplayPort IP and a close co-validation with AMD, we believe Realtek provides the best FreeSync solutions in the industry.” said Yee-Wei Huang, vice president and spokesman, Realtek.

AMD FreeSync technology is AMD’s unique implementation of the industry-standard DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync specification. AMD FreeSync technology allows the GPU to control the refresh rate of a compatible display, which will eliminate tearing and stuttering and reduce mouse latency to enable incredibly smooth gameplay at virtually any framerate.
