Tech giants Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Cisco filed a legal brief in support of Google in relation to a Pennsylvania court asking for information about three Gmail accounts stored overseas.
In a report by Business Insider, US Magistrate Judge Thomas Rueter ruled that Google should surrender emails stored outside the U.S. to comply with an FBI search warrant.
Google has responded by saying “The magistrate in this case departed from precedent, and we plan to appeal the decision. We will continue to push back on overbroad warrants.”
