Due to the Southeast Asia (SEA) fast growing region for Facebook and the Philippines as a large part of its increasing growth with Filipinos as the world’s heaviest social media users, Facebook announced the official opening of its office in Manila, Philippines last April 21, 2016.
Facebook is seeing great opportunities and strong drive in the country with more than 49 million people on Facebook and 44 million of these are using Facebook in their mobile phones. According to the Managing Director, Southeast Asia of Facebook, Kenneth Bishop, “Facebook is committed to driving innovation that helps Filipinos and businesses connect in more meaningful ways.”

Filipinos on Facebook have 60% more friends than global average and send 30% more messages when compared globally.
