Facebook is still the top U.S. smartphone app in 2016, according to a year-end report by Nielsen.
In its “Tops of 2016: Digital” report, the firm revealed that Facebook remains number one among the top 10 US smartphone apps with more than 146 million average unique users per month. The social media app recorded a year-over-year growth of 14 percent.
Meanwhile, Nielsen said that Facebook was followed by Facebook Messenger with 129 million average unique users each month, and YouTube with 113 million average unique users per month.
In terms of smartphone apps with highest year-over-year change, Nielsen said that the Amazon app and Instagram tallied 43 percent and 36 percent growth in users respectively.
Also included in the top smartphone apps rankings are Google Maps, Google Search, Google Play, Gmail, and Apple Music.
