Globe Telecom, through its IT Enabled Services Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel), Asia’s leading information and communications technology (ICT) services provider, to strengthen its information security capabilities and expand its portfolio by offering Trustwave managed security services.
Globe Managed Security Services, powered by Trustwave, will provide a wholistic security offering to enterprises which will enable coverage in areas such as Vulnerability Assessment, Network Security, Application Security and Content Security, Endpoint Security and Access Control and Security Management. The partnership with Singtel leverages its recent acquisition of Trustwave, a global leading managed security services company that helps businesses fight cybercrime, protect data and reduce security risk.
“We are in the midst of a digital revolution. Cybersecurity threats have been constantly evolving and we believe that a more proactive stance against attacks is necessary. Because we recognize that not everyone is capable of implementing a comprehensive solution, the need for Managed Security Services is more apparent. Moreover, security is what most CIO’s and CTO’s we’ve been talking to have been raising as one of their principal concerns,” stated Gil Genio, Globe Chief Technology and Information Officer and Chief Strategy Officer.
Bill Chang, CEO, Group Enterprise at Singtel said, “ The frequency and sophistication of cyber attacks and breaches are on the increase across all industries. Hence, it is imperative for businesses to stay one step ahead of such cyber threats. This partnership leverages Globe’s intimate understanding of the local landscape, Singtel’s expertise in providing managed services, and Trustwave’s experience in delivering enterprise-grade managed security services. Together, we will help Philippine companies protect their assets and customers in order to safeguard their reputation against cybercrime.”
