HP Inc. Lends Support to Businesses, Customers and Communities in PH

HP Inc. has announced support to hospitals, businesses and communities in the Philippines as part of its vision to make life better for its people, partners, customers and community. In addition to a P2 million donation from the HP Foundation to the Philippines, HP Inc. support includes item donations, enhanced customer support and free upskilling opportunities to ensure Filipinos adapt to thrive as they continue learning, working and earning from home.

“As one of the leading local multinational companies in the Philippines, it is our responsibility during these trying times to do more not only for our customers and partners, but to also ensure our resources and innovation can help the wider Filipino community,” said Christian Edmond Reyes, Philippines Managing Director, HP Inc. “By offering enhanced support beyond our trusted and reliable technology capabilities, we continue to pursue our vision to help every Filipino to keep learning, keep working and keep going as we make progress together on the road to recovery.”

Providing Supplies and Essentials for Frontline Workers and the Community

The HP Foundation has donated USD50,000 or over 2 million Philippine Pesos to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) as part of its focus to devote significant resources to support community response efforts and prioritize actions that deliver the greatest impact.

Funds will be used to purchase hospital supplies used in the battle against the pandemic. These include equipment such as cardiac defibrillators, mechanical ventilators, infusion pumps and syringe pumps. As part of its commitment to protect its community including doctors, nurses, staff and medical student volunteers, PGH will also use the funds to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) including N95 masks, medical grade operating room gowns and cover-all suits. This will ensure that frontline healthcare professionals have what they need to deliver proper patient management.

The HP Foundation will also match donations from HP Philippines employees to their communities while budget lasts, with contributions received going to local Filipino beneficiaries.

HP’s Graphics Solutions Business (GSB), which enables small and larger businesses to have personalized experiences through labels, packaging and more, partnered with a HP Print Service Provider to produce 240 pieces of Aerosol boxes and 7,000 customized face shields for frontline health workers. These were distributed to over 40 hospitals in the country including the University of Santo Tomas hospital, Philippine Heart Center and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute Center. As a show of support, the slogan “We Heal As One” of the Bayanihan Act, which was enacted by the government to combat the pandemic in the Philippines, was printed on every item with the HP Latex printer.

HP Philippines will also be providing digital printing services for a project to create educational COVID-19 posters. These will be printed on HP Large Format Designjets and Pagewide XL printers to support the dissemination of accurate information to the local community.

Going Above and Beyond with HP Customer Service

On top of the COVID-19 relief efforts through digital printing, HP offered its GSB end-users with warranty extensions and deferment of monthly payments. Free online consultations, application trainings and software webinars were also made accessible to ensure continuous support as customers and partners grow their business and IT skills.

In addition, HP Philippines customer service teams have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that Filipino families and workers keep learning, earning and working from home with their HP PC and print devices, whether they are in areas under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), General Community Quarantine (GCQ) or Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

HP customer service support teams overcame a range of challenges to provide PC and print support to both consumers and enterprise customers. These employees, with their PPE gear, powered through multiple city checkpoints and repaired devices in the back of the customers’ cars or outside their homes to ensure that health and safety was prioritized.

Sherry Claire Atento, a HP customer from Quezon City, expressed her gratitude through a letter, “Your quick action and proactive nature in responding to the service request is greatly appreciated. The engineer dispatched on site [came with] with complete tools as well as the gear they use in order to protect themselves as well as the customer from COVID-19. Thanks so much for the great customer experience. Kudos to your Service Team!”

“We are proud of our service staff who continue to differentiate us as a brand that delivers on our promise to customers when they need us,” said Christian Edmond Reyes, Philippines Managing Director, HP Inc. “Customer feedback like this is testimony of how HP as a brand continues to help keep human connections in a time that we are apart from one another.”

HP provides the industry’s widest range of customer service support to PC and print customers in the Philippines today. Services include Pick-Up and Return (PUR) for HP PCs with HP carepacks, HP Ink Tank onsite next business day servicing through 24/7 digital support via WhatsApp and web, and Viber chat support at +63 917-1394357 from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM for all HP continuous ink supply system (CISS) printers. A limited-period remote helpdesk support for HP small and medium business (SMB) users was also launched in June. To date, HP continues to provide customer services nationwide across 193 service centers, 14 of which are dedicated HP service centers.
