During Microsoft’s annual conference for its business customers known as the Convergence 2015, Satya Nadella, the Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft encourages business to embrace the open exchange of information using intelligent and collaborative tolls to go further. In line with this, they announced the availability of their new products and services, one of which is the Skype for Business.
Giovanni Mezgec, General Manager for Skype for Business team, announced in a blog post the availability of the technical preview of the Skype for Business client. This preview gives current Lync customers a chance to try the new application and be ready to upgrade.
The Skype for Business resembles the Skype that more than 300 million people use every month. The difference is that it delivers an expanded Lync feature set and enterprise-grade security, compliance and control to IT. This application is also built right into Office. It includes features like presence, IM, voice and video calls, as well as online meetings.
The new client, server and online service of the Skype for Business will be generally available this coming April.
