Leading telecoms and multimedia services provider PLDT recently announced its initial roll out of digital enablement programs for local government units (LGUs) to become ‘Smart’ cities. PLDT, led by Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan, together with the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), represented by Executive Director and Office of Civil Defense Administrator Ricardo Jalad, introduced #READY during a conference in Makati, where LGUs were presented with digital solutions and tools for disaster mitigation and recovery.
