Siri can bypass your iPhone 6S lockscreen

Since the release of iOS 9.3.1 Apple proudly presented that it has fixed all the bugs in the system. However, in the latest edition of the mobile software, another bug has popped up.

In a demo by a YouTube user named Ideosdebarraquito, the new update takes advantage of Siri, Apple’s digital assistant, and the pressure-sensitive 3D Touch feature in the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. This glitch was further detailed in a second video by EverythingApplePro, another ‘YouTuber’.

This technical bug works by asking Siri to look for a result that returns an email address on Twitter after that, when you “force tap” on the email link to access the 3D touch menu, and choose the option to add to an existing contact, this shall open all your contact list without needing a security code. Other than that, You can also choose to Create a New Contact and add a photo to that contact, which gives access to all photos.

The flaw requires certain setting to be activated, thus, it will not affect everyone. However, this bug allows someone to bypass the lock screen since it has defeated the whole purpose of securing a phone with a passcode. This bug is just available on iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, since both have 3D Touch. A solution, on the other hand, is available until Apple fixes the bug, Just go into Settings, choose Touch ID & Passcode, enter your passcode, and disable the option to give Siri access when the screen is locked.
