Microsoft made their full-featured Windows desktop software OneNote free for personal use two years ago. This year, they added new features and removed all the restrictions in the application, but it is still available for free.
The free edition OneNote for PC includes new features such as password protected sections that allows users to add password to sensitive information, page history that makes it easier to see or return to previous versions of a page, audio-video recordings, audio search, and embedded files that allows easy inclusion of Office documents to the notebook.
The new free edition of OneNote uses OneDrive for easy access of notes across different devices. Users can get 15GB of OneDrive space for free with their Microsoft account.
