Facebook will be adding a new ‘hug’ emoji intended for users to show their support to to friends and family during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This will be the seventh emoji available to users, the first six being – Like, Love, Haha, Sad, and Angry.
In a Twitter post by EMEA tech comms manager at Facebook, the company will soon deploy the emoji to give users a way to show their support with one another:
“We’re launching new Care reactions on @facebookapp and @Messenger as a way for people to share their support with one another during this unprecedented time.
We hope these reactions give people additional ways to show their support during the #COVID19 crisis.”
