At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017, startup Mayfield Robotics launched Kuri, a $699 intelligent robot that is created to guard homes and bring joy to people.
The California startup says that “Kuri can understand context and surroundings, recognize specific people, and respond to questions with facial expressions, head movements, and his unique lovable sounds.”
According to Mayfield Robotics, the adorable Kuri is equipped with serious hardware including a built-in 1080p camera, a 4-Microphone array, powerful dual speakers, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, sensors for tracking objects, and IFTTT capabilities to connect within smart homes.
Despite its strong hardware, Kuri is only 20-inch tall and weighs about 14 lbs.
Mayfield Robotics said that it plans to ship the Kuri robot for the holiday season in 2017.
