For the first time, a data from measurement company Zenith revealed that people worldwide will be spending more time facing their mobile devices than watching the television in 2019, a year earlier than the previous prediction.
In a report by Recode.net, people are expected to engage in online activities an average of 170.6 minutes a day while the time to be spent on watching television would be 170.3 minutes.
Zenith’s prediction last year stated that TV would still be more popular than online activities in 2019 which surprised them with the new data results.
Despite changes in the prediction, advertisers seemed to have prepared for the transition as they are expected to spend $60 billion more on internet than TV.
However, the data also shows that citizens in the United States would still spend more time watching TV until 2020.
