Niantic is now disallowing cheaters on Pokemon Go

Niantic is cracking down on Pokemon Go players who want to gain excessive advantage in the game.

According to its official note, the company will ban Pokemon Go accounts suspected of falsifying their location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or using Pokemon Go clients or backends in an unauthorized manner like accessing third party software.

This makes sense because for example, if a player tricked his smartphone that he is in a different location, he will have access to a pokemon that is more easily located in the perceived area, thus giving him an unfair advantage.

Niantic stressed that it wants to bring a fair, fun, and legitimate game experience for every Pokemon Go players.

It’s not known how Niantic will track cheating on Pokemon Go.
