Nintendo names ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ as its fastest-selling game ever

Nintendo Switch game “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” has been dubbed as Nintendo’s fastest selling game of all-time after more than 12 million copies have been shipped in less than a month since its release last December 7, 2018.

As reported by digitaltrends.com, 12.08 million units of ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ were sold as of December 31 which broke the record of the ‘New Super Mario Bros. Wii’ with 10.55 million units sold over a month and a half.

‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ is now third among Nintendo Switch’s best-selling games, following Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 15.02 million units and Super Mario Odyssey at 13.76 million units.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee meanwhile earned the 4th and 5th spots with 11.68 million units and 10.00 million units sold.

The Nintendo Switch has also been paving its way to exceeding Nintendo 64’s lifetime sales of 32.93 million units as 32.37 million units of Nintendo Switch games have been sold as of December 31.
