The PLDT Group has powered the livestreaming of the International Eucharistic Congress (IEC 2016) by Radio Television Malacanang (RTVM), allowing people to view this historic religious event happening now in Cebu City straight from their TV or mobile devices wherever they may be in the world.
“The IEC2016 is a milestone event not only for the Church but for the entire country, and we are humbled by the chance to be part of this. Leveraging on our combined fixed line and wireless networks, we are addressing the communication requirements of the organizers as well as the participants of this historical event,” said PLDT Group chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan.
Cebu-based startup InnoPubMedia and Smart Communications have also jointly designed the IEC2016 mobile app that provides comprehensive information about the Congress. Users can obtain background information about the IEC, its history, the full schedule of events, as well as messages from Church officials, and other conference-related resources and documents. It is available for download to tablets and mobile devices.
