Under Armour says 150 million MyFitnessPal users are affected by data breach

Under Armour suffered the biggest hack of the year so far as they announced in a PR that 150 million users of MyFitnessPal diet and fitness app and website had their accounts compromised in February.

According to SecurityScorecard via Reuters, the size of the hack makes it the largest data breach this year and one of the top five to date. Stolen data includes account user names, email addresses and passwords encrypted with bcrypt hashing algorithm.

Under Armour said it will recommended that MyFitnessPal users to change their passwords as soon as possible. Users should also change their passwords on any sites that use the same login credentials.

The company also said that it is working with data security firms and law enforcement. “We continue to monitor for suspicious activity and to coordinate with law enforcement authorities,”
