Samsung has unveiled its new tablet Galaxy Tab S5e, a 10.5-inch Android 9 Pie device described as the company’s thinnest and lightest tablet ever.
In an article by The Verge, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S5e measures 5.5mm thin and weighs 400 grams, featuring an 81.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and 2560 x 1600 resolution.
The device which is the first tablet with Pie OS along with the new Bixby 2.0 virtual assistant and information tool also comes with an octa-core Snapdragon 670 processor and has a battery life of up to 14.5 hours.
The Tab S5e also has Dex, a desktop-style Android environment which allows users to interact with their device using the screen, a mouse, keyboard, or all three. However, it does not support Samsung’s S Pen stylus unlike the more premium Galaxy Tab S4.
For media, the tablet features a AKG-tuned, quad surround sound speakers and a 13-megapixel back and 8-megapixel front facing cameras.
The device has an internal storage of 64GB (microSD expandable to 512GB) with 4GB of RAM or 6GB RAM/128GB storage option.
While the Tab S5e boasts promising specs, it was not meant to replace the flagship Tab S4.
