After launching ‘Stories’ two years ago, Instagram announced that more than 400 million people are now using the feature, increasing from 250 million users last year.
According to a report by CNN Tech, Instagram is now twice more popular than Snapchat which originally introduced the feature with 191 million active users in the last quarter according to earnings report from its parent company SNAP.
The Instagram Stories feature lets users share videos and photos that disappear in 24 hours, much like how Snapchat works.
There are also Snapchat-like filters like flower crowns and the ability to add GIFs and mention friends in posts which Snapchat later added as features too.
In recent reports, the Facebook-owned photo and video sharing platform is now worth a whopping $100 billion as estimated by Bloomberg.
