Samsung has been calling the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus “reimagined” in their ads. When it comes to “low-light photography” the camera can process 4 times more image data than before to minimize noise and offer clearer low-light images.
According to Samsung, its “most ground-breaking camera yet” is inspired by the human eye with 12MP wide-angle camera fitted to both models it can automatically switch between a f/1.5 aperture to f/2.4 based on lighting conditions, though it cannot be set to values in between when using manual mode.
Furthermore, the Slow-mo shooting mode is available on both handsets and it functions at 960 fps at a 720p resolution and it is available for creating 6-second clips or up to 20 scenes in longer videos.
Also like Apple’s Animojis, Samsung’s AR emoji feature lets users create look-alike avatars that can be personalized. The emojis can be shared on all phones and via third-party apps.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 costs $719.99 while the S9 Plus costs $839.99 and are available for pre-order with the color options of Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple.
