YouTube Music App to come preinstalled on Android 10 devices

YouTube has announced that YouTube Music will come preinstalled on new Android devices launching with Android 10 (and Android 9), including the Pixel series.

According to a blog released by YouTube, the video and music streaming platform said that YouTube Music will automatically come with the new Android devices without the need for users to look for the app in the Play Store to download it.

YouTube stated: “Music fans on Android phones can now easily unlock the magic of YouTube Music, which will come installed on all new devices launching with Android 10 (and Android 9), including the Pixel series.”

“Once you’ve started your new device, just look for the YouTube Music icon and start listening! And if you don’t have Android 10 yet, don’t stress—simply visit the Play Store to get the app,” YouTube added.

Apart from the YouTube Music app, Android 10 will also come with all new features such as suggested actions in Smart Reply, improved Digital Wellbeing tools, and Dark theme among others.

Meanwhile, users who prefer Google Play Music can still download the app from the Play Store.
